7. Search Project Window
This pop-up window lets you search your templates.
To access the Search Project Window:
- From the KwikText menu: Click Search, then either Search Current Project or Search All Projects, or
- From the Template Window: Click Search Project.
When you click one of the buttons, the Search Project Window pops up, ready to begin a search.
To begin a search:
- Type your search term in the text box adjacent to the Search button.
- Press Enter, or click the Search button.
As a search progresses, results are displayed in a three-column table that shows the project, template, and each node's content. You can click the Cancel button to stop the search at any time.
Controlling the Extent of a Search
The buttons at the top of the window let you control the extent of the search.
- Case Sensitive: If selected, the button will be highlighted. Searches will find a match only if upper and lower case matches the search term, as well as the search term. For example, "Abc" will find "Abc" and "Abcde" but not "abc". If Case Sensitive is not selected, case is ignored during a search. So "abc" will find "abc" and "ABCD".
- Current Project: Searches templates in current project only.
- All Projects: Searches templates in all projects.
To change the extent of a search:
- Click the appropriate button.
- Then click Search again.
Using Search Results
If you click on a result in the results table, the program changes to the selected project, loads the selected template, and jumps to the selected template node. At the same time, the node's content is sent to the system clipboard, ready to be pasted as needed.
Sorting Results
Initial results are sorted by Project, then Template, then Node Content. To sort by Node Content, click the Sort by Content button. To return results to the original sort order, click Search.
Closing the Search Project Window
When you're done using the Search Project Window, click the exit button (x) or the minimize button (-) at the top right corner of the window. Material from the prior search is retained, no matter which button you press.
