8. Software Code
Every computer language has its own array of software commands and parameters. They're easy to forget if you don't use them frequently.
KwikText lets you:
- Save commands, parameters, command sequences and blocks of code, along with labels so they're easy to find and recall.
- Click and paste to insert commands into source code, dialog boxes, DOS windows, and other locations.
- Organize templates so you can recall sequences of commands in the proper order.
Here's an example of a template used to insert common HTML commands into any document. After I click the Html node, I can insert the entire block of code required to create an HTML document by clicking where I want to insert and pressing Ctrl-V.
Here's the template. If you want to use a space or other characters in HTML, you must insert a special code sequence, which have been listed under symbols.
Another Example:
I often use DOS batch files to automate some of the tasks I perform frequently. Over time, I've accumulated lots of these files, and find it difficult to remember which batch file does what. I've used KwikText to solve the problem. KwikText labels help me change directories and recall what each batch file does. I just have to click and paste into a DOS window:
The template looks like this:
The batch file name, which gets executed as a DOS command, is enclosed by square brackets.
