12. Clipboard
KwikText provides a better way to manage your clipboard:
- Add, remove and modify clipboard material on the fly.
- Save material permanently.
- Organize material by project, template, category.
- Search for material by label, content, category, keyword.
- Include words, phrases, multiple blocks of text, or entire files.
- Click and paste to insert anywhere.
Here's a simple template:
And here's how KwikText displays it:
Some points:
- Click on a node. Its content is instantly sent to the system clipboard, ready to be inserted wherever you like.
- Minimize clutter. A single label can represent an entire sentence, multiple paragraphs, or an entire file.
- Edit the system clipboard. Just change the text in the left-hand window.
Tips for writing clipboard templates:
- Put anything you want to remember into your clipboard templates. Phrases you want to remember, statements you want to repeat, quotes you want to reuse.
- Classify your material via indentation so it's more organized.
- Label text material for easier retrieval.
- Put frequently used alternatives in a selection list and refer to the list using the < list = xxx > command.
Tips for organizing clipboard materials:
- Create a separate project for clipboard materials so they're easier to retrieve.
- Create a different template for each type of activity you do. For example, you might create one template for personal information that you want to click and paste into letters or web forms. Another for business statements you use frequently. Another for email comments.
