3. Change Format
KwikText provides buttons to change the format of records displayed in the Composition Window. When you click and paste from the Composition Window, or print a record, text material will be transferred just as it is displayed in the Composition Window. When you change formats, the text in the Composition Window changes. The record itself remains unchanged.
Buttons for less frequently used formats are accessed using the Format button on the application toolbar.
To change format, click:
- No Format: If you wish the content of selected nodes to appear as-is, without any additional formatting, select this option.
- Sentence: Creates sentences out of the marked nodes. Adds sentence punctuation as required. You can override the default punctuation by adding punctuation commands in your template. Use this format for creating reports.
- Outline: Creates an outline view of the marked nodes. Use this format when you want to create lists.
- Bracketed: This is the same as sentence format except that all inner commands show up within their brackets. In other words, the brackets are not removed. Use this format when you are not sure why a node in the other formats is being displayed as it is.
- Template: Displays all marked nodes exactly as they are saved in a record. Shows all nodes, whether hidden or not, along with all commands. Use this format when you are not sure why a node in the other formats is being displayed as it is.
