15. Create Shortcut to KwikText Template

If you frequently change some of your templates, you can make shortcuts to them. When you double-click on the shortcut, the template will open up in Notepad, ready to be edited. Just make your changes and save. Next time you use KwikText, it will load the modified template.

To create the shortcut:

For background, templates are contained in the C:\Data\KwikText\"your project name"\Templates\" folder, where "your project name" is the project name you assigned using KwikText.

  1. Locate the name of your template using Windows Explorer. You'll have to drill down from "Data" to "KwikText" to your project name, then to "Templates" and finally to your template name, which has a ".txt" extension.
  2. Right-click on template name.
  3. Click on the Create Shortcut selection.
  4. Windows will create a shortcut labeled "Shortcut to YourTemplateName.txt". It places the shortcut in the same folder as your templates, not where you want it.
  5. Drag the shortcut to your desktop. Whenever you want to edit the template, just double-click on the shortcut.
