29. Edit Template

You can edit the current template at any time. Before editing a template however, you should set the current subject to blank (Just click New). Otherwise the current record will be reloaded each time you complete the editing process.

Adding additional material to a template has no impact on prior records you've created, as long as you don't change labels or change node order.

To edit a template:

Click the Edit Template button above the Template Window.
Make changes as required.
Click the Done button after you've finished making changes. KwikText will save and reload the revised template. Or click the Update window, to update the template and continue editing.

Tip

A KwikText template is an ordinary text file and can be edited with any word processor. If you have a template that you change often, create a shortcut to it, and then edit it using Notepad, even when you are not using KwikText.
